One morning, she held on to a handful of balloons and let the wind decide where to take her.
For a little while, the sky felt close enough to touch.

There were days when the world outside seemed much bigger than the room she was standing in.
She pressed her hand against the glass and wondered what was waiting on the other side.
She didn't know it yet, but wondering was the beginning of going.

THE FRUIT OF WONDER
One afternoon, she found something growing just beyond her reach.
She stretched a little higher.
The branch moved with the wind, the fruit waited patiently,
and for once she didn't wonder what might happen.
She simply reached.
CHAPTER IV
THE OTHER SIDE OF HERSELF
Later, beside the quiet water, she stopped.
There was a girl looking back at her.
She wondered who had been there first.
For a moment, neither of them moved.
CHAPTER V
A LOVE WITHOUT WORDS
And then, one day, she understood something.
Not everything beautiful had to be found.
Some things simply found their way to you.
She sat beside the dog and stayed there for a while.
There was nothing left to ask.
She was still wondering.
